In-House Risk Management Seminars
Our in-house training program gives consultant teams the skills to safely navigate common risk areas in the construction industry, and helps staff meet their CPD requirements.
Another exclusive value-add service for Planned Cover professional indemnity insurance clients, our CPD sessions help employees understand the real-life liability risks faced by consultancy businesses. For medium sized and large teams, we deliver seminars in your office where your team can discuss issues and ask questions in a confidential and collaborative setting. We also offer regular webinars to extend the same learning to smaller practices.
| “The seminars that outline current risks and legal cases are very useful for junior staff.” (informed by Planned Cover client survey) |
Delivered by our legally qualified risk managers, who draw on a range experience across insurance, construction or contracts, our seminars cover more than 10 topics suitable for both new and experienced practitioners, addressing critical matters like:
-
- A consultant’s duty of care and the liability consequences of breaches
- The importance of good record keeping and complying with office document management systems
- Good habits for engaging sub-consultants
- Duties and procedures under “safe design” legislation
- Case studies of claims against consultants
- Which liabilities are insured and which are not
The content is applicable across Australia, so national practices can include the whole team. About one hour per session, our seminars come with certificates to document CPD compliance and, for architects, they include learning outcomes, assessment activities and mapping to AACA performance criteria to enable a formal” CPD point.
We deliver 100 – 200 seminars every year with our risk managers based in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne conducting regular visits to other capital cities and larger regions.
