Meet Helen Lochhead
An architect and urbanist, combining professional practice, board and academic roles for over 25 years. Helen’s career has focused on the inception, planning, design and delivery of complex large-scale urban projects and expert advisory roles to government and industry. Recent leadership roles include Pro Vice-Chancellor, Precincts and Dean, Faculty of the Built Environment, UNSW Sydney, Australia and President of the Australian Institute of Architects 2019-20. A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she has experience on Government, Private and NFP Boards including the National Capital Authority, the Institute of Architects and NSW Architects Registration Board where she was a key contributor to the 2023 report ‘Systemic Risks in the Australian Architecture Sector.’
In January 2024 Helen was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to architecture and urban design, building regulation reform, tertiary education and to professional organisations.
